What things did you love to do as a child and have stopped doing them? When I was a child I drew all the time. I loved to make things: first it was doll clothes and thanks to my mother, I learned to use a sewing maching.  Some people find making things stressful, but for some reason, I enjoy the surprise in starting with nothing and ending with something that I created.  I found photography in high school and my sweet father gave me 35 mm film camera.. a good old Minolta. I found enjoyment at seeing what I could create again.  My other love is to travel, which I was able to start in college.  I spent the best semester of my life in Rome my Junior year.  it gave me an appreciation for other cultures.  Last March, I had the opportunity to take my son, Bryce,  to Paris and Barcelona. I loved every minute of it.  I brought my SLR camera and just a 50mm lens. I found myself capturing moments where people were enjoying each other and of course, enjoying the abundant art around us. I am inspired looking at them again. I am creating just as I did when I was a kid and had the freedom of time and no care about money.  Creating is good for the soul!

Here are a few to share:

My favorite spot was at Sacre Coure, near Paris in the Montemarte section. In the center, were tons of artists and cafes where everyone enjoyed the sun, crisp air and meeting up with an old friend.

This Grandmother was enjoying her Granddaughter by the carousel near the Eiffel Tour.

In the Louvre museum, there were some artists recreating the works of art on the wall. Here a teenager finds her work more interesting than the paintings.

Here in Barcelona, 7 elderly gentlemen gather at noon for bacci ball. The little scruffy dogs waits obediently.

Here the La Familia was truly one of the most beautiful churches I have ever been in.  Gaudy brought nature and vibrant color into his architecture.

And my son thought the Eiffel Tour was black, but really it is brown.

It was hard to get the best view with all those tourists but I was happy with this.
